, VA,

With the help of volunteer Kelly D. Woodruff, The Messages Project has been given the opportunity to work with students at Bryant & Stratton College — Virginia Beach Campus on their senior Capstone project. The Capstone culminates all of the skills obtained throughout their study toward a degree. Each semester, in addition to their degree-specific Capstone project, they focus on a nonprofit organization such as ours.

Earlier this year, leaders of our program were instructed to initiate a challenge for the students so they could successfully demonstrate the skills they’ve acquired during their years in the school. The students were presented with a dilemma: a nonprofit organization lacks the staff power needed to make a task come to fruition. How could the students help resolve the issue?

Over the last several months, Kelly (an Instructor at the college) and her students have learned about The Messages Project mission, priorities, and goals for the future. Founder Carolyn LeCroy has met with the students to personally deliver her thoughts about where our program would like to go. With their expertise, we will be able to make even more of our dreams a reality.

This has also provided us with a wonderful opportunity to garner interest in volunteer positions. Many of the students at Bryant & Stratton College have taken a real interest in our cause, and we’re hopeful they’ll continue this wonderful relationship with us by offering their assistance at future filming sites. We are so thankful to have had this unique chance to interact with these young, brilliant minds. Thank you, Bryant & Stratton College!
